    INTERN
Ashley Limbaugh is our beloved college intern! She has enjoyed drawing and painting the natural world ever since she was young. Throughout her childhood, she explored over 30 National Parks in the United States and Canada with her family and developed a love and connection to nature as a place to both relax and reflect. Through Discovery Art for Youth, she has found so much joy being able to illustrate the beauty of nature and its creatures for kids, and has found that it gives her a reflective and mindful purpose. Ashley loves helping children heal and grow.

  • Josh & Joy Steinrock

    TREASURER & SECRETARY
Josh and Joy Steinrock pour themselves into our youth development outreach. The Steinrock's live on Scattered Seeds Farm where they scatter seeds of love by opening their home to others. They are passionate about providing the Discovery Art for Youth expressive art coloring books to children and youth who use the     activities to process difficult experiences, and focus on the positive aspects of their life at the same time. Josh and Joy love how the books break down important concepts in creative lessons that are simple, yet powerful.

ART AS THERAPY

“Children see the world around them with a different lens than we do as adults. Art, when used as therapy, is part of nonverbal communication for children who may not be able to articulate their emotions and feelings. Art in healing spaces has been proven to reduce stress, anxiety, pain and length of stays. We don’t underestimate its lasting positive effects in a hospital, particularly on young patients. It’s a powerful tool we have in our toolbox.”
